I've always loved my mom. She's kind, cool, and a pretty nice person. I love going out to see her and her relatives in upstate New York. They're a lovely bunch of people. However, my mom recently made the decision to move out here, and it's been making me nervous for the past couple of months. Why? Because she's already moved to Indiana once or twice, and each time she's had to go back. She says that this time it's permanent, but I don't trust her for once in my life. Now she's moved in, and I haven't been to visit her. I feel like I'm alienating myself from her, and that's the last thing I want.
What do you think I should do? I'm at a loss.

While it isn't always a good idea, just see where it goes. You're along for the ride and have little to no say in what happens. Both your parents can do whatever they want, so really it's their choice, just be happy if things go your way and don't get your hopes up for them going your way.

Assuming I understand the situation, I don't see why this "alienation" is necessary.
