Tc had been planning... Scheming... He already had a large spider tank on its way there, piloted by him. The metals, being linked into his network, knew of this and left the group. It was important. The behemouth, taller than the beach house, would destroy the latter And that wasn't something they wanted.
"Good, cause if you were to break this promise. I'd have to BrEaK yOu.."
HD stood up and began shape-shifting, his form was way shorter than his normal form. His gem shifted over to his back and changed color. As he quickly shape-shifted some specific details appeared like orange skin, a scarf, and a hat. It was Copal
Copal dusted off his shoulders and nonchalantly walked over to Mercy.
"Meeeeeeeercy... Are ya gonna help with my wounds or not?"
In Quadrant 1739.54, a Delta-class cruiser surveyed its surrounding: empty space populated only by some frozen asteroids and the occasional distant comet. To a hypothetical observer, the rather diminutive vessel looked lonely as its shades of grey blended into the seamless black cosmos.
Inside the ship there was little kinetic activity. The crew was seated, and the only sounds that issued from within the cruiser were the clicks of buttons being pressed and sequences of numbers being entered into the main computer, while the only illumination was provided by the multicolored glow of lights coming from the various control panels at the front end of the deck.
At the helm, supervising all of this activity, was one lone figure. His was a grey visage, grey all over save for a streak of white that ran across his face in a left to right diagonal direction. From his captain's chair he seemed to control the universe. He was Ekh-cha Haemersu, known on earth as Hematite.
He was in the middle of contemplating why the hell asteroids exist, and whether or not some sadistic gods put them there as a method of fucking with inoffensive vessels, when a bright flash, loud siren, and call for attention cut off his train of thought.
"Captain!" Cried a Peridot urgently, "We've spotted something!"
"What is it?" He asked gruffly. It had been a while since any new developments had been made.
"We're picking up some signals from the core of an Alpha-class. They seem to be coming from here." The Peridot gestured to his screen, bringing up a map of the blue planet that ought to have been a Colony some millehim ago.
"Earth, you say?" Ekh-cha Haemersu thought for a moment, then shrugged and gave an order. "Send a small scouting team down to the planet. Pinpoint the target's exact location and bring him to me."
"Yes, my Lord." The coordinates were punched in and the orders transmitted. Soon a small scouting vessel launched towards earth.
Ekh-cha Haemersu grinned. Soon, he thought, you will be mine, Prince Auros.
Mercy's face turned white with shock and her mouth fell open. Then she laughed and shook her head in amazement.
"Well now...that's some secret, HD. I made a promise, so don't worry. Your secret is safe with me." She smiled at "Copal", turned around, grabbed the bowl of water and the flower bud. She reached into a drawer and grabbed a clean rag.
She walked out of the kitchen. "Lets go to the living room and get that arm fixed up, Copal. Don't want it to get in the way of your fighting, now do we?"
Iron and the others arrived at the decimated house. The warp pad was luckily still intact. It was then that CJ Regenerated right in Lenny's hands.
"CJ, you're okay!" Lenny pulled CJ into a bear hug.
"Augh! Let go of me, big guy! Jeez, I just woke up. So...what did I miss?" He pushed himself out of Lenny's grasp and looked to Nick, pausing when he saw tears streaming down the taller Metal's face. "Uhh, you okay--augh! Come on, man, you're embarrassing me..." Nick pulled CJ into his own hug.
"I'm just so glad you're alright..." Nick said in between sobs, "I thought you were gone..."
Iron decided to pause, sitting on a ruined chair and letting the three have their moment.
Mercy winced at the breaking of his arm, but spoke gently and firmly.
"If you want to keep your secret a secret, don't you think you should play the part? You hurt your arm badly, so wouldn't the others be suspicious if its magically healed that quickly? I don't have fast acting healing powers like Steven does."
Mercy walked over to him and bandaged his arm quickly. "See? Nothing to it." She stepped back.
Mercy blinked. "Well, Hybrids are half human, half Gems. At least thats the kind of Hybrids me and Steven are. Stevens mom was Rose Quartz and his dad is Greg. My mom was Moonstone, aka Luna and..and my dad was Santino."
She shuddered, then shook her head. She looked at Copal. "Come with me." She grabbed his hand and led him to the open study, where her mothers portrait was. She hesitated, then entering slowly, pointing out the painting to Copal.
"Thats what my mom looked like when she was alive. My uncle Heath and Aunt Rayon painted it as a gift for her."
"The others and I...are Metals," He started, "We were designed to protect Earth from Gems. That used to be ALL Gems, but then again we were built under the presumption that the Crystal Gems had been wiped out, as many fossil records indicate."
