WHOOOOOOOOOOOO BOYYYYYYYYYY!
This is now my new favorite episode. I'm still shaking from the intensity. This episode gave me such a frigging adrenaline rush. I give this a full 100/10, in all sincerity.
I love Bismuth now. I love her character because of how she changed in the course of episode. She starts out as this rough, cool character, but snaps, and turns into this crazed extremist. She went from being friendly towards Steven (and Rose) to accusing her of being a traitor to her own beliefs. And I love that sudden change. Also, her role as a blacksmith was really, really cool. The fact that Homeworld used human-like weapons (blades, axes, etc) is interesting. Pearl's fawning over her was funny and adorkable. #shipit
So yeah, this episode is now my new favorite (so far). Let's see where they take us next.
Still shaking from the pure awesome, PearlQuartz17

WOWOOWOWOWOWOOWOWOWOWOOWOWOWOWOWOWOOWOWOW. Chevron Rose isn't Pink Diamond anymore, lol. Pink Diamond was probably never even a thing on Homeworld. The Crystal Gems made their own Diamond most likely. How many Rose Quartzs are there? Bismuth was bubbled, and Rose never told anyone. I can understand why; imagine telling your army that you bubbled someone because they wanted to take out the enemy. They probably wouldn't understand. I loved how intense this episode came to be. The transition was great. Everything was awesome.

I enjoyed this because it is pointing out Rose Quartz's flaws as a character even though Rose is gone. Bismuth REALLY didn't like Rose. And I can understand why.
Steven, much like Rose, has the flaw of having his conscious hold him back from duty. It's hard to wage and win a war when all you're doing is simply delaying the inevitable. And for Rose to ever win the war, she would have to shatter the Diamonds.
But Rose had her morals getting in the way, and because she isn't willing to wage war and take lives, many of her friends died. She chose to give up a weapon to help them win, and as a result now there are only a handful of Crystal Gems left. So really, Rose led each revolutionary to their deaths.

That brings up the question: is it more virtuous to follow one's own morals or the orders given you by a superior; to make one's own choices, or to simply follow a preordained path; to be an individual, a person, or to be a piece of matter that follows as told?
I believe Rose chose individuality, and I like that choice. She believed that a person should make his own decision.

I believe Rose chose individuality, and I like that choice. She believed that a person should make his own decision. But in that process, she chose for other people, specifically, for Bismuth. Again, there was a reason she kept Bismuth locked away; she wouldn't be able to explain her reasoning without sounding like a foolish leader. In that matter, she chose for The Crystal Gems, thus it turns her into a hypocrite. As a result the war was probably much more prolonged and ended in a Pyrrhic Victory at best. I side with Bismuth's philosophy; you cannot wage war without expecting death, and if you are not willing to take the life of the enemy but sacrifice your own people's lives, that leads to being a questionable leader. Individuality just isn't a quality for military endeavors.

I'm fucking pissed off, the promos were all like "WOWO AN ALL NEW MEMBER OF THE CRYSTAL JAMS" and then they bubble bismuth at the end of the episode.
Bismuth wasn't even that memorable of a character to me, she was just a black sassy gem who was all like "IT'S FOR THE CAUSE MAHN."
5/10 Average episode.
Crazy legs didn't die for this.
AND SHE NEVER MET LAPIS REEEEEEEEEEEEE

I wonder if the series is going to start becoming like Transformers in a way, mainly in ways like the Armada and Energon and Cybertron series?
Like the good guys start off with a relatively small team of like 3-4 members, but over the course of the series, they start discovering and coming across more of their kind who join their cause (some who were even former enemies), and soon enough, they then have a bigger team that's more equipped to face the enemy at full force? Some who even do things like fuse with the leader to help them overcome bigger challenges (i.e Like Wingsaber and Leobreaker did once they joined the crew in Cybertron).
Anyone else think that?
