Reposting my second Gemsona here. Sorry that I didn't do this sooner, had things to attend to first.
Epidote: Normal Form
Epidote: Berserk Form
The two Gems who fuse to form Epidote, Green Zircon, and Terrabite (Corrupt Dragon's Blood Calcite)
Name: Epidote
Race: Fusion Gem / Gem Geo-Weapon
Gender: Genderless (referred to as a she)
Gemstone(s): Epidote, Green Zircon, Dragon's Blood Calcite.
Weapon: Dragon Head Claw/Arm Cannon
Occupation: Former Kindergarten Miner, Soldier, Geo-Weapon, Warrior
Backstory (Intro): Epidote is a unique Gem Fusion between two "Miner" Gems. They are called Green Zircon and Dragon's Blood Calcite, (or "DBC" for short). At first, both of them were a pair of "short" gems, like Ruby and Sapphire were, and they are BFFs.
Originally, Green Zircon and Dragon's Blood Calcite were two gems who were best friends for quite a while. Originally, they were both created in a Gem Kindergarten on another planet, and then applied to become "miners."
They would help dig out areas on various other planets and search for places rich in regular gems and ore, which the data on their findings would then be sent back to the Gem Homeworld to determine ideal sites for new Kindergartens. The two were great friends, that is until something terrible happened.
Dragon's Blood Calcite, became corrupted into the Monster Gem, Terrabite. Terrabite then terrorized this one Kindergarten, and a big Kindergarten too. The Monster Gem, with its superior burrowing and vicious nature, kept wrecking the Injectors, killing new Gems before they could be "born" and was difficult to capture. Green Zircon was heartbroken to see this happen to her friend.
She then caught the interest of a Gem Scientist (actually my one friend on DA's one Gem, Zoisite), who was working on an experiment to harness the power of Corrupted Monster Gems and make them more easily controllable. Green Zircon volunteered to be part of the experiment, since this would allow her to be with her corrupted friend, so that they wouldn't have to put DBC/Terrabite out of her misery.
Green Zircon then successful captured Terrabite (by luring her into one of those forcefields like in the Gem Prisons), and then took part in the experiment. Using the new Stabilizing devices attached onto both of their gems, the two became the Fusion, Epidote.
Epidote was then used as a soldier, while still maintaining her position as a miner for Kindergartens. However, soon they found out about a terrible Side-Effect of her state, her Berserk Form.
Personality (Normal Form): Epidote's personally greatly changes for her two different forms, her Normal Form and her Berserk Form.
In her Normal Form, Epidote is a very apathetic Gem, who doesn't really care about much other than Dragon's Blood Calcite (now Terrabite) and herself, and little else. Her general nonchalant (and at times, arrogant) attitude and disorganization make her a bit difficult at times. The expression usually upon her face reflects her attitude, most of the time the look on her face borders between seriousness, or boredom, as you can see here. She rarely ever smiles, though she will sneer about some things occasionally.
To Epidote, engaging in Combat is nothing other than a necessary evil to her, and she tends to make a habit out of overkill because of that. Though she's merciful enough to usually not smash one's Gem (killing them), she does tend to resort to a lot of brutal methods in battle, such as stranging her opponent, tearing their limbs off, etc. Generally, her attitude in battle is one of condescending indifference. Epidote rarely says anything that isn't of an angry yell or a quick insult, or perhaps some sort of dispassionate vulgarity.
This does not make her a bad Gem though, just rather tough and usually hard to get along with. She is more along the side of Lawful Neutral. She is very passionate about her friend now fused with her, as well as the other Gems that may be on her side, though not outwardly. The feelings towards her comrades are best displayed in the battles she fights, where she will beat down anything that threatens her friends' safety and throw herself in harm's way to protect them.
Epidote doesn't spend much time with others, but she has a way of showing up and will come if she has to. The reason being largely because she doesn't want to snap and go into her Berserk Form when innocent people are around, knowing how difficult it is for her to control, and how she could possibly harm innocent bystanders or friends in this form without much thought.
Originally, Epidote merely wanted to stay fused this way, until a cure to return her Corrupted Friend, DBC, to her original state, could be found. However, after a long time has passed with her fused, and no possible cure found, Epidote started to lose her individuality and began to enjoy being like this, even though she knew the downsides of her state.
She isn't really friends with Dravite (my other Gem), but respects her for assisting her in their escape.
Abilities (Normal Form): Epidote has a number of abilities, most stronger than typical Gems, due to the fact that she is a Gem Fusion. She does have abilities such as Agelessness, and Bubbling for Stasis.
The one big ability of her's is her Berserk Form, a monstrous transformation she goes into whenever her rage gets high enough. Read on Berserk Epidote here. --> Epidote (Berserk Form) - SU Gem - FC Reference
Epidote's main attacks come from her malformed left arm, and her tail. As you can see, Epidote's left arm is like a large claw with a Dragon's Head (actually Terrabite's Head without the eyes in its sockets), for a hand. Her left arm can deliver a powerful slashing/bite attack, can punch with the hard crown of the head (which is quite strong for headbutting), or can bash enemies with the spikes down the side of it. Her Left Arm can also charge up and shoot a beam from the mouth, either a quick but weaker blast, or a charged up beam. Interestingly enough, she can still eat from the second arm too. The second arm's head does not have a mind of its own or anything.
Epidote also has a prehensile tail as part of her fusion. Her tail is useful as a 3rd limb, though she doesn't often use it to attack enemies with, mainly since she doesn't want to expose her second Gem too much. A unique ability of her Tail is that if the Tail is jabbed into a solid surface (such as a floor or wall), preferably an area with fertile soil, the tail can grow roots, which travel through the ground quickly, and can be used for a couple uses.
The first use of her Tail Roots. She can absorb nutrients from the ground, invigorating herself. Think like getting an adrenaline boost. This requires the roots to be in fertile ground though.
Another one, useful in offense. The roots can grow large "Spike Sprouts," which resemble green tentacle-like appendages with a bladed end that come out of the ground from her roots. The Spike Sprouts can grow a good distance and she can create more than one, though she has to be rooted in order to use them. A distinct small rumbling can be felt in the ground when they are moving over to attack, sometimes alerting the foe. It does not require fertile soil to use, and can be used in surfaces such as stone walls or concrete too.
Last use of her Tail Roots. She can absorb nutrients from the soil and use it to power up her Arm Cannon (requires fertile soil). This allows her to charge up her Beam in less time, or fire an even stronger Charge Beam. When enhanced by her roots, her Beam is much larger and takes the shape of Terrabite's Dragon Head at the front.
In Normal Form, Epidote has better speed/agility and is at about average intelligence, and she also has a Projectile Attack for ranged combat in this form. However, this form of her's has less attack and defense.
Also, her Tail Roots have a big drawback. Although they allow her to use her strongest attacks, she has to wait a moment for the roots to situate, and afterwards she has to remain stationary in the ground for it to work and cannot move, leaving her vulnerable. If she dis-roots or is pulled from her spot, the Spike Sprouts all disappear instantly and it also breaks her charge for her cannon, cancelling the attack.
Epidote is also a terrible swimmer, and sinks like a stone whenever she tries to swim. She has a distinct fear of large bodies of water because of this. Although she can't drown or anything due to being a Gem, she still stays away from the ocean and other such bodies of water.
Epidote cannot shapeshift like normal Gems (unless her Berserk Form could be considered a Shapeshift). Her Stability Equipment prevents her from Shapeshifting.
Also, she cannot fuse more than what she is now.(or more specifically, doesn't want to). The reason being is that her Stability Equipment can only handle a 2-Fusion, but 3 or more would strain the device too much.
She also has to keep her stability equipment around her two gems in check. If they were to break, she might not be able to hold her fusion with her Corrupted Friend. She also tries her best not to Take too much damage and be forced to retreat into her gems, as for that would also break up the fusion, and she doesn't want her Corrupted Friend, DBC/Terrabite getting loose.
Backstory (Continued from Intro): After multiple incidents of her going into Berserk form and making a disaster area of places where the Homeworld Gems were working on, the scientist, Zoisite, deemed Epidote as too dangerous, and ordered her to be Destabilized, and for her Corrupted friend, to be euthanized.
Epidote was not going to let that happen, and she fought back. She forcefully made her way out (well actually with help from my other Gem character, Dravite), and escaped to Earth via Warp Pad. She made sure to break the Warp Pad as she escaped though, so that she couldn't be followed.
Epidote was then branded an "Escaped Geo-Weapon To be Avoided and Reported to Gem Authorities if Spotted," making her a bit of an outcast on the Homeworld, giving her more reason to find a way to escape and find another planet to live on. Dravite assisted her on this, who also had reason to leave the Homeworld behind, and also had become a sort of outcast as well.
Also, during her escape, she found out about how the Gem Homeworld was now resorting to stationing Gem Kindergartens on actually-inhabited worlds, disregarding what it would do to those planets and the races living there. She felt this was going too far, since the other Kindergartens she helped dig out were all on uninhabited planets, and she never would do it on a world that actually had life on it. She now hates the Homeworld Gems greatly, both for how they treated her when she was thought of as a "Failed Experiment" and for what they were now doing with Gem Kindergartens.
Epidote now resides on Earth, staying well and keeping a low profile, but doing what she can to defend from threats such as other Corrupted Gems, and any Homeworld Gems, whom she wonders if they are still after her. She resides alone in a crashed Gem Ship on the outskirts of Beach City. Although Dravite occasionally comes to see her, she does not live with her. It is lonely, but Epidote feels it is necessary, for if her Berserk Form were to snap, she would want to be as far away from other innocent bystanders as possible.
Epidote (Berserk Form)
Overview: This is the unique part about her, and one of the unfortunate side-effects of her condition of being fused with a Monster Gem, her "Berserk Form."
Whenever Epidote's rage gets high enough, or she loses focus and control, she changes into a strange Humanoid Dragon-like gem, showing her more Beast-like side. This Monstrous "Berserk Form" resembles a Humanoid Dragon-like Monster with sharp teeth and thick claws for both of her arms. This form has the consciousness of her other part, The Monster Gem, "Terrabite" (Corrupted DBC), taking over, reducing her to more of wild animal-like feral instincts, much like that of other Corrupt Monster Gems.
Epidote's Berserk Form only lasts until she either tires out, or her rage dies down, in which she then returns back to her Normal Form.
Epidote doesn't usually hang around others, mainly because she doesn't know when her Berserk Form will snap. She tries to keep it cool as much as she can, and avoids situations that will make her angry.
However, she does find this state to be useful plenty of times too, and will use it when more Strength and Defense is necessary, or sometimes as a sort of "Second Wind" if she is really badly beaten.
Personality (Berserk Form): In Berserk Form though, Epidote's personality changes greatly. As since it's more of Terrabite's consciousness taking over in this state, her intelligence lowers to that of animal-like instincts and blind rage. Though Epidote can be tough and harsh normally, Berserk Epidote is far more violent and shows no mercy at all. She cannot talk in this form, and only communicates in Monster-like Roars and Screeches in this state.
Berserk Epidote pretty much attacks anything that moves and is very savage and ravenous. She also can't be reasoned with in this state, and will not think twice about completely destroying one's Gem like this, (unlike her normal form, who would still have some sense of mercy).
Although not very intelligent, and extremely relentless in battle, her instinct usually tells her to go for whatever she was focused on before her transformation, or whatever looks like the greatest threat at the time.
Depending on the situation, Berserk Epidote can either be a good friend, or a vicious foe. Her high pure strength and resilience make her a great in battle, but her nature can sometimes end up making her due more harm than help, depending on the situation.
Abilities (Berserk Form): Berserk Epidote's abilities and fighting style are much different than Normal Epidote's. She has higher attack and defense and physical strength now, but less speed, agility, and intelligence.
In Berserk form, Epidote's Dragon Arm Cannon becomes her normal face, and it gains back the 4 eyes there, both of her arms become larger and thick-clawed, she grows spikes on her back, and her feet become clawed as well. She is only about a foot taller than Normal Epidote, but she tends to stand in a hunched position in this form that bellies her size. She can walk upright, or other times she runs on all fours.
Berserk Epidote mainly relies on her claws and teeth in battle. She gains a notable increase in Physical Strength and Defense in this form, being able to lift and flip over cars in this state, and she can withstand more damage now too.
Her claws can be used for powerful slashing or punching Melee Attacks now, (a bit stronger than Garnet's Punch), and her jaws can now bite through even solid iron. She also gains a destructive spinning attack, in which she whirls her claws and spikes to rip apart the foe. Berserk Epidote can also stretch her arms up to three times their original size, giving her a bit more reach in her attacks. She still has use of her tail in this form as a sort of 3rd limb.
Being fused with an underground Monster Gem, Berserk Epidote is also great at burrowing, and can dig through the ground so quickly that she almost appears to sink into the ground. Her claws also are good for climbing.
Berserk Epidote uses a sort of Feral Hand-To-Hand Combat in this state, and never uses any strategy, merely just agressively attacks her opponent till they perish.
As mentioned before, Berserk Epidote trades Speed, Evasion, and Intelligence for greater Strength and Defense. In this form, though not a total slowpoke, she runs a lot slower than in her normal form, and she is terrible at dodging attacks. She also loses her Beam Attack in this form (she can't fire it from her mouth or anything), making her incapable of Ranged Combat in this form.
Like Normal Epidote, Berserk Epidote is still bad at swimming (in fact, even worse than in her normal form), and tends to stay away from large bodies of water as a result.
Her lower intelligence in this state is a big weakness for her. She is rather easy to outsmart like this.
Also, she loses the ability to distinguish from Friend and Foe in Berserk Form, which is one reason she doesn't like it that much. She may attack an ally or innocent bystander without much thought. However, she usually goes for whatever she had her sights on at first, or whatever seems like the biggest threat at the time, but still is not someone you wanna be close to when she's like this.
Another way that this also can be problematic to her, is that due to her Relentless Nature, she may engage in battle with a considerably more powerful opponent, and never think of retreating even if the situation becomes dire.
Green Zircon: Green Zircon was originally a short Gem who was born at a Kindergarten. She was a miner who helped dig out other Gem Kindergartens, and for a while, did her work without question. The Kindergartens she and DBC dug out were initially on uninhabited worlds, but she did not know how the Homeworld was getting into stationing them on inhabited planets later on. She was best friends with her colleague, Dragon's Blood Calcite, and loved her more than anything.
Green Zircon's weapon is the cannon that makes her left arm (it is not a Limb Enhancer like Peridot, it is actually part of her body). It makes a good ranged weapon, but she used it for most of her life to blast away rocks effectively. She wears a helmet with a light on the top to illuminate underground. She cannot change her hand back into a regular arm normally.
Terrabite (Corrupted Dragon's Blood Calcite): This Gem was originally another Miner Gem by the name of Dragon's Blood Calcite, though she liked to be called "DBC" for short. Originally she was a Red Gem who had swept-back hair, and was about the same size as Green Zircon. Her weapons were a pair of Shovel-like Claws, useful both in battle, and for digging.
Then came a fateful day, when she became a Monster Gem called "Terrabite." In her Monster Gem Form, she resembles a fierce cross between a Naga and a Dragon, with two-fingered claws. Terrabite is a very vicious Monster Gem who excels at burrowing, and relies on its sharp claws and knife-like teeth in battle. She became a Monster Gem in the Kindergarten, and for a while, terrorized the Kindergarten so much that it became hard for the Homeworld to continue their operations on that planet. That is, until she was captured by her former friend, Green Zircon, and used in Zoisite's experiment.
The two fuse (with their experimental Stability Equipment) to form Epidote.
