HISTORY
Biography: Idocrase is one of the few cross-gem fusions to occur at its time, happening far before the Homeworld Civil War. It was not long before the Diamonds outlawed cross-gem fusion, seeing its power and its potential destruction toward the Diamond Authority. Idocrase was the result of two gems falling for each other: a Peridot and a Larimar. They kept their love a secret, but at a point in time attempted cross-gem fusion out of curiosity of the result. They did so in private, but the Diamonds, having agents with eyes and ears everywhere, found out about this and captured Idocrase. They subjected the Larimar to corruption and forced the Peridot to fuse with the corrupted Larimar. The result was interesting; the fusion had some amount of intelligence and could even produce speech. Idocrase remained since, as Peridot 54-SH feared (and rightly so) that she would corrupt herself once she leaves the fusion. As a result, Peridot constantly forces the corrupted Larimar to remain fused, both as a precaution for the safety of herself and those who may be around her. The Diamonds agreed to banish Idocrase, and White Diamond sent Idocrase into the depths of space where they floated aimlessly for several centuries.
Peridot 54-SH was, as most Peridots were, a technician. She specialized in advancing gem technology and is one of the few responsible for helping design the new Injector models and other gem production facilities. She met Larimar by accident in a Homeworld gladiator match. Only the higher class could watch the gladiator fights in the Arenas, but Peridot 54-SH was given the honor to befit the gladiators with their armor. Larimar was helping with readying the gladiators.
Larimar had worked in the gladiator pits his whole life. If he wasn't at war, he was in the pits. Larimars have a sort of renewing ability; they are able to take the strength and energy of one gem and pass it onto another to make them stronger and refreshed, or to make themselves stronger and refreshed. They could also use the energy to give gem tech that malfunctions a quick boost. Typically, prisoners were used as a means of preparing the gladiators for the Arena, as they could be used as a constant source of energy; once a prisoner restores their energy after they are used, they can be used again and again without worry of shattering. Larimar was giving energy to a gladiator and Peridot 54-SH was putting on the armor. Larimar couldn't help but notice her... he could not explain his emotions, but eventually he began to fall for her as they began talking... Peridot eventually had to return to her duties as a technician, but Larimar managed to convince the Pit Master to allow her in every few days and help them out. She accepted. From then on it sparked a relationship that would last about a thousand years.
