(Yes, this is Act 2. Ask Altruvolant for Act 1)
The next week passed pretty quickly, at least after Raven pried that...whatever it was out of Whipple. Apparently it had something to do with his spellbook. Everyone had dedicated most of their time to putting Beach City back together, though the Arsenal of Freedom sped things up.
I had decided to go back home and visit Andy. Peridot wanted to come with.
"...Why?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Well, for one I'm your only way back," Peridot said, "And I would like to do some research with your disk library. Perhaps you have an entry on this "Raven" character."
"That...does raise some questions," I said, Yeah, Peridot...she makes a point. How many other shows I've watched as a kid have actually existed in an alternate universe? Are there Power Rangers? Transformers? How deep does the rabbit hole go? "...Sure, you can come." It's best to be prepared.

The book was silent
Dead silent
It was almost as scary as it was on the day of the Lighthouse Prisonbreak (Whipple named that one but no one was in the spirit to argue with him). One second the book is aggressively occupying Whipple's mind and the next, nada. It was like it was biding its time.
No it was actually scarier right now than when it was possessing Whipple.
Whipple was sitting under a dock with a small fire that he had started with the book. Fires were nice. Whipple was tempted to toss the book on to the fire but he tried that in act 1. It didn't work. Whipple was too scared to experiment with the book, didn't feel like talking to anyone, couldn't really help with the war effort, and couldn't find a working computer.
So he was stuck with his thoughts and the sound of the ocean lapping the beach. Not bad, but a mountain dew and a good game of Counter Strike Source would be a million times better.

Alexandria Ardington sat at home, writing furiously in her notebook. Her pencil flew, her mouth twisting into a crazed grimace. "This is just getting creepy," Pasta commented. "Shut up," Alex growled, continuing her work. "My followers on Fanfiction.net are gonna LOVE this!" "What would you do if he were to magically appear right now?" Pasta asked. Alex froze. "Well, that's impossible, so..." She trailed off, shuddering at the thought. "Shut up, P." Alex looked out the window and wiped her tired eyes with her hoodie sleeve. It was impossible... Right?

Mercy was sitting on a rock, thinking, when she suddenly thought of Andy and...home. She stood up quickly and ran to Nick.
"Nick, I need to go see Andy...and take care of some family business."

Sunset once again on Delmarva. Fritz once again seated by the seaside. His eyes were glazed over from all the staring he'd done to recuperate from all the action he'd seen in the past week. He wasn't a fighter, really, but when the characters of your favorite TV show come to you through dimensions and ask for help....
Looking back on it, it was a pretty asshole thing for him to pussy out when they first asked him. But now he was here, and he did have some experience in sword fighting thanks to the all-nighters he had pulled with Pearl. Come to think of it, he did wonder where his teacher was. Getting out his sketchbook and a pencil, he found her a little ways off, also watching the sunset. "Frau Pearl," he said in his politest voice, "would you mind if I did a little sketch of you? I'm an artist, and I've recently been lacking a really good subject. I'd be honored."

"Ya ya ya, I'm on my way you lazy fuck, just give me a bit." Felix was stepping out of his house while speaking on the phone, chewing out whoever was on the other end before hanging up and placing the phone in one of the many pouches on his belt. He let out an annoyed sigh and locked the door while fishing a black pack of cigarettes out of his pocket along with a lighter. He light up quickly and stormed off the porch of and started walking. He always hated having to do deliveries because it left him exposed for those who actually knew what he did to come and deal with him. He was hoping it'd be an uneventful trip but it was also taking him most of the way across town, a lot can happen in that period of time. He smoked angerly as he walked while muttering to himself and glaring at people who got to close or tried to make eye contact. Problem with living where he did, he stuck out like a sore thumb. He was leaving a gated community and while everyone else was khaki shorts and polos, he was trench coat and cargo pants.
Probably didn't help the fact that he had been awake for a solid week so his eyes were almost solid red at that point and his hair and clothes were a disheveled mess. He had been working in his 'lab' working on a more consistent way to make the cheap version of his 'product' and he had almost figured it out. Then lo and behold, one of his clients needs their fix and like and idiot got their car repossessed for attempting to not keep up with payments. He stopped at the security check leading to the outside of the community and knocked on the window. "Yo big guy, dipshit got his car re-poed, gotta go make a drop." He spoke to the rather large Mexican fellow who was inside the small brick shack who opened the window and help out his hand. "I know, here." Felix said placing a small bag in the guards hand. "Make sure to share with your boyfriend this time so that bag of ass isn't hammering on my door in the middle of the next time ok?" The mexican nods and waves before pressing the button to open the gate to allow Felix to exit and then closing the window. Felix stepped out and shut the gate behind him before starting to make his way towards town.

"If you want to talk to your father...good luck," I said. That...fucker...no, she shouldn't go it alone. "Actually, take someone with you."
---
"Well, I guess I could...where is Steven?" Pearl asked Amethyst.
"He's with Garnet and that Raven chick," Amethyst shrugged, "Something about bubbles."
---
"You can do it, Steven," Garnet said, freeing the large core from its bubble.
"Uhh...okay..." Steven licked his hand and put it on the core...the core suddenly began to glow brightly, morphing and changing.
"I can't believe it...the metal is breaking..." Raven gasped. When the light had dissipated, a sobbing Sadie was in it's place.
"Sadie!" Steven held his friend.
"What is going on..." Garnet gasped.

Mercy shook her head gently. "I'll be fine Nick, no need to drag anyone with me. Besides, Its family business, I don't want to burden any friends of mine with it."
She smiled softly. "But thank you for your concern and consideration."

"Well...okay. Just stay strong, okay?" Peridot opened the portal, and we stepped through.
"I'm gonna go straight to the hospital," I told Peridot and Mercy, "Meet back here in two hours." I started walking to the Hospital. It'd be a good half hour before I'd get there.

(WARNING: READ THIS POST THOROUGHLY. I was up until 2:30 in the morning typing this. I know its long, but I worked hard on this. Please don't scan or skim it. Thank you. Enjoy!)
((Trigger Warning))
Peridot was browsing Nick's massive DVD collection when Mercy's cellphone blew up. It went absolutely nuts with message sounds, voicemails and vibrations.
Mercy grabbed it out of her pocket, looked at the screen and paled immensely. "Ohhhh SHIT." Her Uncle Heath has been messaging and calling her for days, there were even messages and voicemails from Aunt Rayon.
She called Uncle Heath immediately and waited for him to pick up. She heard a click and winced when Heath started shouting.
"MERCY!! SWEETHEART, ARE YOU OKAY!? WHAT HAPPENED!? WHY HAVEN'T YOU ANSWERED YOUR PHONE!!?? WE'VE BEEN SO WORRIED, ARE YOU OKAY?!
He must have been on speakerphone, because she could hear Aunt Rayon speaking clearly. "Heath, calm down, shes safe now. Mercy, what happened? Where have you been?"
Mercy almost burst into tears.
Uncle Heath and Aunt Rayon have always been there for her when she was younger, until they moved across town to open their music store and get away from her father. They still stayed in touch and called her when they could. All three of them even got together on some weekends. They can help her with her "graduation present."
She tried to compose herself before speaking, but her voice started to crack as she spoke.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to worry you two, but I need your help. Please..." She burst into tears on the phone. Heath and Rayon went nuts.
"MERCY, WHATS GOING ON!? PLEASE TELL US WHAT'S WRONG!!" "Mercy!?"
---------
As Heath and Rayon listened to Mercy, Heath went completely red in the face, while Rayon teared up and covered his mouth with his hand in shock.
After Mercy was done explaining, Heath was silent, then he rumbled gently into the phone while Rayon stayed quiet. "Mercy, its okay. We are coming right over to your house. I'm bringing my truck with me, so it might be a few minutes. Do you have your house key?"
He nodded. "Good, now go home, unlock the front door for us and pack up as fast as you can. We are getting you out of there and you can stay with us for a while. AH ah ahh, don't say anything. We will talk about it later, but for right now, do as I ask, okay?"
His eyes grew misty and talked soothingly. "Shhhh its okay, baby, don't cry. I'm not mad at you and neither is Rayon. Okay? We'll be there soon. We love you, sweetheart. Bye."
Heath hung up and stayed silent for a few seconds. He then slammed his fists down angrily on the kitchen counter. The whole counter shook with his rage, making Rayon jump.
Heath turned to Rayon, yelling angrily. "He had NO RIGHT to do that to her! If I see him over there, I'll punch his Goddamn-" "HEATH, CALM DOWN, PLEASE!!"
Rayon grabbed him in a bear hug. He then spoke quietly to Heath. "We need to go get her. Now. She needs us, love. I know that you are upset, but please. We have to go."
Heath was quiet. Then he looked down at his husband and smiled sadly. "You're right, RayRay. I'm sorry."
Heath hugged him close. "Now lets go, I want Mercy out of that house ASAP."
--------
After Mercy had hung up, she wiped her eyes and looked at Peridot. "Peridot, I have to go home, can you look after my weapons while I'm gone? I promise I'll be back soon." Peridot nodded as she was still browsing at Nicks DVDs.
Mercy quickly took off her staff and dirkblade. She laid them on a chair, then she removed her Phaser from her pocket. She looked down at her gloves hesitantly. "...I'm sure I'll be fine."
She peeled off her gloves and laid them on the chair. She grabbed her backpack and purse and ran out the door.
She ran all the way home, but when she got there, she snuck in through the backdoor and went upstairs quietly. She got to her room and went to work. Thankfully, she kept a clean room, so it was easy for her to get shit around quickly.
Using every Walmart bag, paper bag and any box, she packed up her belongings. Mercy also gathered clean clothes for her backpack, her phone and MP3 player charging while she worked.
After about an hour of frantic packing, she was completely finished. Everything was ready to go, even her backpack and purse. She quietly took her stuff downstairs and put them in the foyer. She brought down the last box and pulled out her phone. She messaged Aunt Rayon that her stuff was in the foyer and the front door unlocked. Rayon messaged her back, thanking her and apologizing for the hour delay. Traffic issues, but they were on their way there.
She put her phone in her jacket pocket, unlocked the front door, and was about to sit down to wait, when she heard a loud noise from her fathers study.
Mercy ran to the door and opened it up. It was pitch black inside. She walked in carefully, feeling for the light switch. "Dad, are you in here? What happened? Are you oka-?"
Mercy was shoved forcefully forward and the door slammed shut, the darkness consuming her. She squeaked as she fell, but quickly gathered her wits and tried to stand up.
She heard the doorlock click and froze when she heard a voice emerge from the darkness. "Mercy...." The lights turned on and she turned around quickly. Santino was standing over her, staring crazily down and swaying. She could smell whiskey on his breath. Then she saw the shattered decanter on the ground in front of the fireplace.
Mercy tried to back away, but Santino grabbed her wrist and yanked her onto her feet. She cried out at his vise-like grip and tried to escape. "Dad, let me go, stop it! Please!"
"SHUT UP!" Santino punched Mercy hard in the face, throwing her into the bookshelves. Mercy was in pain and seeing stars, but she was still conscious. She tasted blood from a cut on her lip.
He roared. "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN, YOU LITTLE BITCH!? THANKS TO YOU, MY FAGGOT BROTHER WOULDN'T STOP CALLING ME, WONDERING WHERE YOU WERE!!"
He went over to Mercy and picked her up off the ground, shaking her like a rag doll.
"I LOST BUSINESS BECAUSE OF YOU!! THAT FAG KEPT CALLING ME, DISRUPTING MY GODDAMN MEETINGS, ALL BECAUSE OF YOU!!"
Mercy started to scream, but Santino back-handed her, cutting open her cheek with a sharp ring he wore and threw her into the bookshelves again.
Crying in fear and pain, she crawled away as fast as she could away from him, trying to get behind the study desk.
She sobbed as blood trickled from her lip and cheek, her eye swollen shut. "Daddy, I'm sorry. I'm sorry."
Santino grabbed the fireplace poker and charged at her. "I DON'T CARE, YOU FUCKING BITCH!!" Mercy shrieked as he lunged with the poker.
-------
*CRAAASH* The study door was ripped off of its hinges as Heath burst through, snarling in rage. "BASTARD!!" He grabbed Santino before he could hit Mercy and threw him out into the hall.
"I'LL KILL YOU!!" Heath ran after him and tackled him to the ground. Heath beat Santino up until he was unconscious, then he threw him into a spare bedroom and slammed the door.
While that was going on, Rayon ran into the study. "MERCY!! OH MY GOD!"
Mercy sobbed as Rayon held her close, looking over her injuries. Her wrist was bruising, she had a blackening eye and there were two cuts, one on her lip and another on her cheek. No broken bones or concussions.
Rayon picked up the sobbing Mercy and quickly carried her to the kitchen. He cleaned her wounds and comforted her while she cried. Heath stormed in and hugged Mercy tightly.
"My poor baby, I'm so sorry, We should have been here sooner." Heath and Rayon wrapped their arms around Mercy and rocked her as she cried for a few minutes more.
Finally, she began to calm down. She dried her eyes and kissed her uncle and aunt. "Thank you, Thank you....."
---------
They got out of the kitchen, packed Mercy's belongings in the truck and were about to leave. Mercy shakily spoke up. "Guys, I-I'm going to go hang out with my friends for a while. A few days maybe. Is that okay?"
Heath and Rayon looked at each other in surprise and concern. Heath spoke uncertainly "...Are you sure? Will you be alright?"
Mercy smiled lopsidedly, due to her swollen shiner. "I'll be fine, don't worry"
".....Alright, if you're sure, but PLEASE KEEP YOUR PHONE ON YOU." "Call us when you need to be picked up, we'll take care of your belongings." Rayon handed her sunglasses.
"Here, just in case. And we'll drop you off where you want to go. Also, on our way home, we'll call the police to arrest Santino. We have a friend on the force who will back us up."
Mercy took the sunglasses and put them on. "Thank you, Aunt Ray. T-Thank you both....so much." Her voice cracked.
Heath and Rayon wrapped her up in a bear hug. Then Heath carried her to the truck. They drove her to Nick's house and dropped her off.
"Have fun, sweetheart. Be safe." "Keep in touch, okay?" They drove off, shouting. "WE LOVE YOU!" at the same time. Mercy waved as they left.
.......Well, she couldn't go to the hospital, not when she was looking like this.
So she walked into Nick's house, setting her backpack and purse near to her weapons. Peridot was sitting on the floor, too engrossed by the TV to notice her entering.
She sat down on the couch and waited for Nick to return, wearing the sunglasses and rubbing her bruised wrist.

Bene,Frank and Pete Stole snacks from a nearby store, started up a little fire, and burned random nearby objects. Frank was surrounded by living cartoonish robot limbs while Bene and Pete were covered in regular sand and mud. "And then she SLAPPED me." Pete said in a confident tone as he put his hands behind his head in a relaxed motion ,"Wow" Frank replied,"Was it worth it?", Pete gaves a thumbs up, "YES!"

"I'll have to report this to the Crystal Gems..." Peridot said, closing her notebook, and offhandedly turning her attention to Mercy without facing her. "Hmm...well, we know where Nick will be, so it'd be best if we simply met him halfway, wouldn't it?" She reasoned.

Mercy was lost in thought and jumped when Peridot spoke, wincing slightly in pain.
"Y-yeah, that makes complete sense."
Mercy quickly turned her back to Peridot so she wouldn't see the sunglasses. She quickly gathered her purse, backpack and weapons.
She put her cat gloves in her jacket pocket and spoke to Peridot without turning around.
"Are you ready? Lets go meet Nick."

"Just turn your head a little this way, Frau Pearl," said Fritz. She turned her head so that the setting sun caught on her hair in the just right way. "Sehr gut, sehr gut. Now, raise your hand and arm as if you were about to faint." She glanced at him questioningly, but did as she was told. "Ach, you're a very good model," continued Fritz lovingly. "It's been so long since I've had a subject with such poise, such grace and such majesty in her appearance." He put down his sketchbook and pencil, and decided to take a break.
After a while, he asked:
"Do you speak any German?"

Alex typed away on her laptop, a triumphant smile on her face as she slammed her finger down on the Enter button. "Perfect!" She cried, falling back on a pillow. "Are you actually out of breath?" Pasta asked. "God, you have to be the weakest flesh sack of a human being in the universe." Alex crossed her arms. "Not so," she protested. "Writing lemon is a hard thing to do." "How long has it been since we've gone outside?!" Pasta asked, exasperated. "Four days?!" Alex sat up. It definitely had been some time. "But what about my followers?" She asked with a pout. "They can wait," Pasta said, then, more harshly, "Now go outside!" Alex reluctantly walked down the stairs, grumbling incoherent protests. She slowly turned the knob and opened the door, backing away and hissing at the sunlight. "Out," Pasta snarled. "Now." Alex stomped outside, slamming the door behind her. Looking around, she blinked at how... Bright everything was. The only light she usually had was from a lamp or a computer. She pulled up her hood, still pouting, but she had to admit; it was nice out, and the smell of the arriving spring was a relief from the smell of Hot Pockets and dirty socks. Alex decided to go for a walk, hoping to find something for her useless junk collection, or to maybe watch the guys play basketball at the court...
