She can be reckless sometimes due to her optimism and confidence.
Dory greatly enjoys fusing with other Gems because she finds it fun being a part of bigger and stronger Fusion Gems that look like the Gems who form them.
Likes: Sunbathing, watching sunsets, belly dancing, performing acrobatic feats such as cartwheels and handsprings, taking part in gymnastics, free-running, exploring, going for walks and jogs, yoga, having fun, making friends, being with friends, pleasing and cheering up her friends, being helpful, cinnamon, ginger along with the smell of it, ginger beer, yogurt, rice, sushi, bananas, banana milk, mangoes, lemons, cheese, corn, creamed corn, corn flakes, French fries, egg yolks, scrambled eggs, omelettes, mustard, butter
Dislikes: Staying still for too long, loneliness, being judged and criticised, feeling like she’s dead-weight, offending/upsetting others when she didn’t mean to, innocent people suffering, tight spaces, being imprisoned, the Homeworld Gems taking over and hollowing out planets and getting involved with them in doing those things
History:
Dory was made on Gem Homeworld. While on Homeworld, Dory would spend her time playing outside.
As the Gem war on Earth known as The Rebellion took place, Jasper of the Homeworld Gems asked Dory to fight in it alongside her against the Crystal Gems. Dory couldn’t bring herself to become a war participant who fought and destroyed other Gems and refused. An angered Jasper threatened Dory with indefinite solitary confinement as punishment if the latter didn’t fight in the war. Dory was horrified by Jasper’s threat and felt she had no choice but to comply so she and Jasper went to Earth to fight in the Rebellion.
In the Rebellion, Dory got into a fight with a Crystal Gem named Peach Moonstone. Dory discreetly asked Peach why the latter was fighting against the Homeworld Gems. Peach’s answer was to protect Earth and all of its living creatures from being destroyed by the plans of the Homeworld Gems. While they continued their fight, Dory shared a plan with Peach that would allow the former to leave the war and the latter suggested that they could both pay visits to the Rebellion’s battlefield after it ended until they met again. The two Gems agreed on each other’s plans.
Dory absorbed lots of sunlight and allowed Peach to attack and send her flying into the middle of the Homeworld and Crystal Gems. Upon landing, Dory released a giant and bright beam skyward. While all the Gems were temporarily blinded, Dory shape-shifted into a bird and flew away, leaving the rest of the Gems to fight.
As Dory flew, she began to succumb to the damage she sustained from absorbing and expending such a large amount of sunlight and held off retreating into her gemstone to heal with her sheer force of will. She looked for a safe spot to retreat into her gemstone and came across a volcano. Dory flew above it and allowed herself to retreat into her gemstone, causing it to fall into the volcano along with its lava. Inside her gemstone, Dory went into a deep slumber as she healed.
Approximately 5,500 years later, Dory finally woke up, causing the volcano she was in to erupt, ejecting her gemstone from it in the process. After she regenerated, Dory explored Earth in search of surviving Crystal Gems while paying visits to the Rebellion battlefield so she could eventually rendezvous with Peach there...
Abilities:
Dory is incredibly agile, being able to perform all sorts of acrobatic feats, with examples being wall-jumping and front and back handsprings.
She is a skilled hand-to-hand combatant who throws swift kicks and punches and can also fight with capoeira.
Dory can summon two chakrams from her gemstone. Apart from being able to throw them as projectiles, she can also use them as hand blades.
She has pyrokinesis and can set her fists and feet on fire to throw fiery punches and kicks.
Dory has extreme heat resistance, allowing her to safely come into contact with fire and lava.
When standing on one spot, she can generate an internal fire to create power for stronger punches and kicks. The internal fire goes out when she moves.
Only during daytime, Dory can absorb sunlight to fire beams of golden energy, Solasers, from all over her body. She can continuously fire small Solasers from her knuckles or fingertips to use them as claws and the soles of her feet to fly. Dory can fire larger and stronger Solasers and even produce explosions from her body by absorbing lots of sunlight at once but she’ll also do damage to herself.
By absorbing sunlight, Dory can heal her gem if it’s cracked and her own injuries as long as they’re not too severe but she has to be standing still in order to do those things.
Sunrise Jump: A graceful arching leap that has Dory twisting around in mid-air which provides vertical and horizontal momentum.
Sunset Kick: A 45 degree angle flying kick that can be performed after a Sunrise Jump.
Fire Gem: Dory charges up before sending herself flying in a direction of her choice while engulfed in flames.
Helicopter Kick: Dory throws a series of quick kicks at a roughly 135 degree angle in a circular motion that make her float upwards.
Weakness(es):
Vulnerability to water-based and earth-based elemental attacks, claustrophobia
