This is a Medieval-Mecha RP. The premise is as follows: Steven and Connie are playing a tabletop game called Machines and Magic, but they find the game a little boring on its own. They, along with the Crystal Gems, enter Rose's Room and try to make the game more....interactive. Little do they know of the twists and turns that await them in Midgard. Metal Giants (aka Mecha) roam the land, controlled by all kinds of opponents. From bounty hunters, to corrupt emperors, to the Gods of Valhalla and the Gods of Greece, the sides to pick in this adventure are countless. But Steven, Connie, and the Gems mustn't get too caught up in all the action, lest they become a permanent fixture of the game itself.
So, will you too take your chance and enter the world of....
Machines and Magic?

As much as I love the premise, it's gonna be SUPER easy for things to get out of whack. Keep in mind that the room will follow only what Steven wishes for, and very few of our OCs have made much of an impact on him. An alternate premise could be that this is just an AU, where Beach City is a medieval kingdom.
Also, what kind of quest are we going on? Do we each get our own faction or is this a fellowship? How will our mechs work? Will they all have super powers, or is it just medieval weapons?

Our quest is a fellowship, much like in LOTR, except that at the beginning we don't have any real reason to explore other than to end the game. However, just following the rules of the game can get a little....boring. Let's say Connie wants to shake things up, so she asks Steven to spice things up. He tells the room to transfer control over to her for now, and she fabricates stuff like Valhalla fighting Olympus, and pirates in seaborne mecha-boats, and even a little Eastern influence begins to seep in.
However, as we saw in Open Book, things get a little carried away, and Connie and Steven, accompanied by the Gems as well as our characters, must fight back against the panorama of obstacles and intrigues which their simple tabletop game has become.
How does that sound? If you guys don't like it, we can go with the Beach City as a medieval kingdom idea.

I think the biggest issue with this premise is how we're going to put in our OCs.

I was thinking that since this is an AU, our OCs could just be friends of the characters. Either that or our OCs could be part of the world that Connie generates to make the game more interesting.

Ooookay. Still you didn't answer my questions on limitations of the mecha.

Allow me to get to that. The mecha--or, as they'd be known in this very medieval world, "metal Giants" or "metal behemoth"--would be created by alchemists, figures who are not quite priests, nor scientists. They practice a form of magic which blends what we would know as science with wizardry. The mecha themselves, while solid, are derived from pure energy. They're given solid form through a bond which they form with their pilot through a sort of meditative state. You don't really control a mecha with your hands, but more with your mind and spiritual energy. This has both pros and cons, the major con being that if a person is seriously wounded and tries to fight with a mecha, the bond will not be as strong, and consequently the robot won't be as able to fend off opponents. That make sense?

I think that's a bit complex. Not to mention players would NEVER want to leave their giants, get hit once and you're permanently crippled. No second winds or turning the tide. That is gonna SUCK.

-slaps self- It's so OBVIOUS! The GEMS are the giants! How would this work? Simple, each Gem is instead a powerful alchemist. Instead of having the gem be part of their bodies, it's where the Giant is stored and is an accessory. Pearl would have a tiara, Amethyst a necklace or breastplate, Garnet would have bracers. This would be great, because it would allow non-gems to have gem powers and weapons. I imagine Pearl would pick something swift and sleek, like Getter 2.
