Auros spun lazily in his chair. Nothing good had crossed his path in the past six weeks. Nothing big. No contraband, no weapons, nothing. Nothing a bounty hunter like him could sink his teeth into. Instead, there was the ever-changing tableau of stars, nebulae, and more stars, and more nebulae. A non-space traveler would find this endlessly amazing; but when you're a bounty hunter, somebody who's spent all his life wandering around space, picking up whatever scum people are willing to pay top dollar for, it all just seems commonplace. After a while, it all looks the same.
Auros was in the middle of dozing off when his control panel began to beep and glow. He sat up straight, and began working on determining the problem. His A.I. spoke:
"Homeworld ship class Alpha-1237 gaining fast!" the feminine voice was at the same time urgent and distant.
"Is she visible?" asked Auros hoarsely (he had to clear his throat from not talking for a good long while.)
"No sir."
"Damn," he whispered. He cracked his fingers one by one and began to work. His skilled hands moved across the control panel at lightning speed. Suddenly a message appeared, and the ship began to shake, as if being stopped by force. Auros put the message on his screen.
It was an imposing Jasper who stood in full battle armor to greet the bounty hunter. "Greetings, bounty hunter." Her voice was cold.
"Greetings," replied Auros with no trace of fear, but a lot of suspicion. Thinking on his feet, he added a "And hail the Diamonds" to his salutation.
"Hail the Diamonds indeed," said the Jasper. "We have captured your vessel because we believe there is something illicit on board."
"If you're talking about drugs, I don't have any. This is a clean ship," the bounty hunter replied.
"We're not talking about drugs, bounty hunter. We're talking about one object. The Star-Steel Arm."
"The Arm of Rakh-Mazok?" Auros was taken aback. He'd heard about this fabled piece of armor, but he'd never actually seen it. Nor, he presumed, had anybody less than 10 kilohim old in this galaxy.
"Yes," was the simple reply.
"I don't have it." Auros was direct in his answer, not willing to pull any tricks lest he incur the wrath of Homeworld, a force he knew he couldn't trifle with.
"I see," said the Jasper. "Then I don't suppose you care if we search your vessel thoroughly?" She lengthened the syllables on that final word.
"Not at all." Auros was getting a little nervous. Within a minute, he heard the sound of Quartz troops being beamed into his vessel. Soon they burst through the door and pointed their blasters at him. The guards were transparent, broad-shouldered figures that glowed whitish around the edges.
"Stand where you are," one of them said in a rough voice. They approached him, and one of them had a box in their hands. "Explain this."
"That's, uh," began Auros, before the box was dropped to the ground. It broke, revealing some old parts Auros had been meaning to install.
"These are parts wanted on the black market," said another Quartz trooper. "What are you trying to pull?"
"Now, now, let's not jump to conclusions," said Auros, remaining calm while sitting down in his seat. Distracting the troops with explanation about the parts, his hands reached back to a secret compartment.
"I see," said one of the Quartz.
"Indeed," said Auros with a wide grin. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I gotta go check on somethi--HA!" He suddenly fired at the Quartz troopers, disarming one. He ran out the door and started firing at them. He managed to temporarily incapacitate them. Collecting their blasters, he laid them on the transport pad, then pressed the button. "Sorry, ladies, but I fly alone."
He leaped into the control panel, and began to start the ship up. A message came on screen from the Jasper.
"What is the meaning of this?" she bellowed.
"I told you, I don't have any illicit items on this ship. Now, if you'll pardon me, I gotta get going." With a sudden burst of fuel the ship broke the hold of the larger vessel, and began running through space.

(Why not)
Chevron sprinted like a madman through the crowded bay. She was moving at speeds that would make a topaz jealous. She jumped over a ship that was locked in. This one won't work she thought. The next bay was empty, and the next one; perfect. Chevron jumped over a peridot, much to it's disapproval, and landed in the cockpit of the ship. She punched the ignition, cracking it, and practically threw the ship out of the hangar. It spun into space.
Space.
Scariest fucking place for Chevron. She was blind, and relied on her 4 other senses fine tuned over her long lifetime. In space that did jackshit. Chevron needed to rely on readings from the console to fly. She was, actually forbidden to fly. By direct order of her Diamond.
Regardless, she put commands into the ship, and it whirred into action, the outside hull morphing to proper shape. Chevron pushed the control wheel forwards, and the ship took off.
She was already feeling sick.
The ship was moving, yes she knew that, but she couldn't feel the ship moving. It was like she was in a box, and she knew it was moving, but she couldn't tell from inside. It was scary, and it made her feel like shit.
The intercom binged to life.
"CHEVRON I SWEAR" The Amethyst on the other end started.
"Relax Relax, I got this, I made it this far right?"
"CHEVRON IF YOU GET BACK HERE IN ONE PEACE I WILL PERSONALLY BREAK YOU"
Chevron kicked her feet up on the console, as she finished setting her course. "Look I know what I'm..."
"You think this will be just like the uprising, don't you" Amethyst interrupted.
"What are you talking about?"
"When the gems on colony 4920 rose up against us to save it, and you personally stopped the rebellion, that's when you finally became a recognized member of the army."
"What?"
"And the worst part was it wasn't even a good rebellion, it was a handful of peridots and rubies trying to save a steaming hunk of rock that was keeping another star system alive" Amethyst complained "Look, Chevron. If you come back with that bounty hunter then it will mean you get tons of promotions. It'll be 4920 all over again. You disobey orders, preform an amazing feat, get the fact that you're blind ignored, and despite your disability get a big position. I'm going to let you go just so I can laugh when you die."
Chevron smiled.
"Something funny?" Amethyst asked.
"If I come back I'll outrank you"
The Amethyst paused for a moment, then hung up. Chevron brought her feet back down and checked all the readings and imagery.
"I'm coming for you Auros"

Achroite was cutting the sternum of a drugged "patient" with an oscillating saw to gain access to its alien heart. He drained the heart of blood and cut the different arteries and veins. There was an open cooler halfway filled with ice on the cart next to him. Achroite removed the still-beating heart and placed it in the cooler, closing the lid afterward.
The client sat in an uncomfortable wooden chair in a waiting room that smelled of anesthetics. Achroite entered the room, the door opening slightly jolted the shabby man.
"5025 xkis." Achroite said flatly.
"Yeah, here." the guy held out light yellow rectangular paper that had odd symbols printed on it; a form of currency.
Achroite took it and exchanged the small cooler.
The client pushed the lid up a bit and peaked in, "Okay." he tipped his hat and moved hesitantly at first when leaving, but quickened his pace after a few seconds.
Dioptase walked in and informed Achroite, "Someone wants a human."
"A human what?" he asked.
"The whole thing." she replied.
Achroite raised his eyebrows in surprise,"How much did they offer?"
"30,000."
Achroite folded his arms, "Tell them that they've got a deal." he said after a moment of thought.

Copal walked through the rugged landscape of the desert, it's harsh winds pushed like a river but Copal steadily made his way through the desert.
Copal finally found a cave and rested up. He looked at his map,the map was out dated, along with that the map was covered in holes and gun powder.
"Well this is just fantastic" Copal said as he threw the map out the cave into the sandstorm.
Copal pulled out a small communication device from under his poncho,it looked like it hadn't been used in years with dust and cobwebs, and ofcourse, it was broken too.
"So much for that, how am I supposed to get my job done now?" Copal gathered his things and went back into the sand storm.

Mercy had decided to warp to any spot where she could read in peace with Sol. And where she could get some fresh air. She loved the Temple and the beachhouse, but she wanted to read her new book away from everyone right now. Well, everyone except Sol, her Moonwolf.
Mercy and Sol stepped onto the Warp pad and she found herself near the Friend Ship place. It was a weird, random choice, but she didn't mind.
"Lets find a nice spot, Sol." She smiled and rubbed his head. He licked her hand and spoke in a warm baritone. "Did you bring any marshmallows?"
"Yep, two bags. Now lets find a quiet place." They walked around for a few minutes, until Mercy spotted a nice, shaded area between a couple of trees, far from the crashed ship.
She took off her backpack, opened it and pulled out a small, soft blanket. She laid it out under the tree, and put her backpack on one corner and her silver portable radio on the other, so if a breeze picked up, it wouldn't flail around them.
Mercy took off her tennis shoes and socks. Much better. She sat with her back towards the tree and pulled her new book out from her backpack.
Sol nudged her. "I'm going to walk around a bit more, Mercy. Will you be okay?" She smiled. "Yep, go ahead and when you come back, I'll get you some marshmallows"
"Okay." He walked off into the trees. Mercy looked at her book. She has been wanting to read this mystery book for days. She smiled and put her hand on the radio next to her, speaking softly.
"Play some smooth jazz, mixed with Earth, Wind and Fire please." The radio started playing as Mercy pulled a Mentos mint from her pocket, popped it into her mouth and started reading.

Rubellite dealt the ship jump around as it escaped the larger one's grip. By that, I mean she flew into the side of the container she was hiding in. When she stopped bouncing around, she rebbed her head "god damn it... What are they doing up there? I should stop hiding in here and take this ship..." She thought on this, deciding she would be destroyed if she tried that.
She was just glad to be getting back to civilization. Its hard being a menace to society when society is severely lacking. Oh how she loved to watch the authorities run around, frantic to catch her. It made killing them all the more... Fulfilling... She did love a good murder every now and then.
Which was precisely why she was here, in this cargo container. She wasn't going to last much longer on Homeworld, not without getting caught. She was sure they wanted their little sacrifice back. But she wouldn't have it, so she was jumping planets, hopefully to somewhere with more interesting, helpless residents.
She made a note to kill the Capitan of this ship when they landed, seeing as how he must be incompetent to fly the ship like this. She couldn't wait to land on whatever planet they were headed to, already formulating plans to escape the ship to a more comfortable dwelling. Maybe some abandoned storage facility, if they had those where they were going.
That brought up the question; where the hell were they going? Not back to Homeworld, of course not. She couldn't go back. Not ever. It had to be a gem colony, but what kind? Was it just some brooding rock? She speculated for a while, loosing track of the time again.

Achroite dressed in his usual Earth attire, this wasn't his first time visiting the planet.
He hopped into his medium-sized space ship, its paint job tried to mimic the stars and the dark blue blanket of space that surrounded it.
Achroite started it and took off, a thin trail of smoke was left behind. He turned on auto-pilot, and rested his feet leisurely on the touch screen control panel as it was in idle mode. It was a smooth ride.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1pf6s8MGrs&list=PLeigbpMXUkYlKcypDJRIUDuyz2HtGGEk0&index=3 This is the track for this scene.] When Auros blasted his way out of Homeworld's grasp and into hyperspace, he thought it would be smooth sailing from there on out. He might find a nice little space port, get himself something hard to drink, and maybe find a night's worth of sordid companionship. Next day, he might head out on his way to find another job. He'd heard of something in the Tau Sigma district that might pay 25 schmekels.... A sudden blast from behind him caused him to check his monitors. It was that same Homeworld ship, and, judging by the rate at which they were firing, they were pissed the fuck off. Their laser torpedoes were aglow with orange-pink fury as they fired and fired. Auros breathed a long, drawn out "Fuck!" before straightening up and doing what bounty hunters do best: evade capture by running away. He pressed all controls going forward, and began zig-zagging in an attempt to throw Homeworld, whose ships were programmed to travel in single-file lines, off a little before going once again into hyperspace. He made it, but not before a laser struck the back end of his ship. He was spat out on the other end of the hyperspace tunnel rather abruptly. Auros looked at his fuel controls, and realized he was near empty, and was also in dire need of repairs. "At a time like this?" he thought aloud. "Well, at least I got them damn troops off my ass for a bit." He resigned himself to landing on the nearest planet he saw. After a few hours of relatively slow traveling, he reached a pale blue marble known as Takh-Syllakok in Gemtongue, but known to more people simply as the Earth. He powered up his A.I., and asked about any signs of life and any materials he might be able to find. "There's water, and most organic substances necessary to make the components needed to restore this ship to its full power," said the A.I. "Thanks, Rebecca. Is there anywhere I could land with a Warp nearby?" Auros asked. "Let me direct the ship to the coordinates," Rebecca replied, and the ship began its descent through different layers of the atmosphere. Soon, however, the ship lost all its fuel, and began to plummet. Auros, who wasn't a person to sweat any stuff, no matter how big or small, characteristically leaned back in his chair and said: "Ah, Rebecca, you're not the best of drivers." He closed his eyes and braced for impact.

Chevron began to dive. The ship moved down to Earth at immense speed. As soon as her ship broke earth's atmosphere, she could see again. Suddenly the outside of her ship became visible to her 4 remaining senses. There was an impact below, probably the ship she was after. She decided to land a distance away in case he tried to shoot her down. She brought the ship a mile or two from Auros's landing site. The ship touched down, and chevron slammed a button on the control panel, moved outside, and puked. Maybe eating before flying the first time wasn't a good idea.

"Mercy, I'm back. Hows your book?" Sol walked up to her and sank down onto the blanket. Mercy started, then smiled at Sol. "Its awesome, Sol. I love it. The perfect mix of suspense, mystery and murder."
She turned the book over, spine up and rummaged through her backpack. "Here, have some marshmallows." She pulled out a big bag of them, campfire size.
She opened the bag and poured them all out onto the blanket. Sol barked happily and started snarfing up his favorite treat. In a few minutes, they were all gone and Sol had a goofy smile on his face, his cheeks puffed out.
"Taanks Merky." He mumbled while chewing. "I'wm gonna rwun aroond shome more, be rought back." He went off, still chewing the marshmallows.
She chuckled to herself, then she pulled another Mentos mint out, popped it in and resumed reading her book, while the radio played loudly.

Rubellite clung to the many wires St reached across the interior of her container, almost like a spider on its web, being blown around in the breeze. She hissed at the turbulence. She didn't like the idea of crashing, it didn't sound like a pleasant undertaking.
She remembers making each strand out of her clackers, tying them all down. She hadn't planned on using them like this, they were just a comfort of home to her. She liked having them up everywhere...
She was really going to kill the Capitan now, what the hell was he thinking? She hoped they both survived, so she could kill him herself. She would enjoy that.

"Goddamn, do I love a good crash!" Auros stood up from his turned-over chair, and surveyed the disordered ship. The voice of the A.I. was distorted as she registered how much damage the ship had sustained. "Yeah, yeah, I get it, Rebecca; we gotta shit-ton of damage to take care of," he said, cutting her off. "Is the air breathable?"
"Y-yes sir," Rebecca replied.
"Good." He discarded the jacket and pants which had gotten torn badly in the crash-landing, put on a rather flashy suit, something that an Earthling from the 1970s would recognize as a disco suit. "Always gotta look your best when you make a first impression," Auros said.
He opened the hatch of the ship, and took the first tentative steps, his blaster in hand, towards Earth.
It was misty. The remnants of last night's storm lingered in the dying afternoon air, on the plants. It pervaded the hesitant breaths Auros took. Once he found the air to be pleasant to his lungs, he began to take in big gulps of it silently. It was refreshing, invigorating, almost suffocatingly free compared to the air on other planets. The air on Gem planets had nothing on Earth's air.
He found himself in the middle of a lush forest, and he put his blaster on silent mode. After looking around, he set it from stun to kill. God knows what hostile creatures might live on this strange new world. The climate seemed cooler than some of the places he visited. It seemed like spring from where he was. Everything seemed to be blooming.
After a while he made it out of the forest, and found a clearing with a little hill. He turned to his left and saw the sunset dying slowly. It shot its light in all directions and in various shades of purple, orange, and yellow. Some of the light caught on his skin, and gave it the shimmer which all Metals possess. He kept walking and saw some metal parts scattered among the way. Nothing of use; just some rusted bits of junk. Then, he came across a ship.
It was old was the first and most obvious observation Auros made about it. Biological succession had done well, he thought. One could barely tell it was a Homeworld ship. It was eaten by time and plants. Green covered every fixture, and moss hung and drifted in the breeze.
He stood in awe of this magnificent work of nature, but resigned to explore it and get the parts.
It was even more ancient on the inside. The controls were outdated by hundreds of kilohim, perhaps thousands. The sunlight glowed through the gaping hole in the roof of the ship, glistening on everything. It was almost blinding.
Auros kept his blaster handy, and drew out a little teleportation gun from a pocket on the inside of his jacket. It scanned each part needed, and beamed them back to the ship. Thus he began working.
"Damn, this junk is old," he muttered. A loose bit of material missed him and clanked to the floor. "Piece of shit's falling apart faster than I can get the parts."

After some time Copal hitch hiked his way to civilization.
He layed in the back of a pickup truck and relaxed as he focused on the sky.
The white fully clouds, the beautiful sunset sky, and the large black smoke cloud leading into the nearby forest.
"Wait, what the bloody tarnation?"
Copal gave the driver a handful of sweaty old cash and jumped out and ran to the location of the smoke.
This lead Copal to a crashed ship, he recognized it as a homeworld ship. "Lookie what we got here!"
Copal found the A.I rambling about the ship's damages, he summoned his gun and tapped a nearby surface to get it's attention.
"Howdy Ma'am, how's your evening?" Copal said as he learned on a wall in a relaxed manner, "you mind telling me where your master ran off too?" Copal waited for an answer.

Rubellite was sick of waiting, and decided to leave. She started charging lots of electricity, using it to slowly melt through the container.
She then made her way to the bridge, stealthily of course. When she saw... Someone. The Capitan, she presumed. She summoned a clacker, holding it by the balls like a garrote, and slowly started creeping up behind the figure, tapping at the console with a gun.
Wait, if he was the Capitan, he would know how the ship worked, right? Then who was this clown? It really didnt matter, she was still in a killing mood, but she wanted to know who her victim was.
"And who do you think you are?" She desummoned her clackers, watching him.

Mercy was getting cold as the sun started setting and a breeze was picking up. But she wanted to finish her book.
"Just five chapters left, then I can go warm up..." She tried to keep reading, but a cold breeze blew around her, going through her sweater.
She slammed her book shut, speaking to herself out loud. "Fuck it! I want to enjoy my book in this place, so I'm going to the ship site. I will enjoy my peace and quiet!"
Sol was still running around, so she stood up and stretched, packed up her stuff, wrapping her little blanket around her shoulders. She walked back toward the ship site.
She marched straight in and looked around for a quiet corner without wind blowing around her. She found a snug spot near some old, rusty parts.
Mercy settled down again and went back to reading. She was on the last chapter when she heard a weird noise close to her. A low buzzing sound. She ignored it the first time, but on the last page of the book, she heard it again. Only a little closer.
She sat up and closed the book. She had to know what that noise was. She took off her tennis shoes, got up from her spot and walked toward the sound.
She saw something glowing, but didn't Know what it was. She heard the sound again and ran towards it, going around a corner....
*SMACK* She had ran into someone with their back to her. She squeaked and fell on her ass. "I'm sorry! I didn't see you!"
